1969 –	New year began with very cold weather in the inner part of Slovenia. In Šmartno pri Slovenj Gradcu in the morning the temperature was -24.5 °C, in Nova vas on Bloke -24.3 °C was measured, in Celje -24.0 °C and in Žiri near Radovljica -22.0 °C. In spite of partly sunny weather the temperature during the day remained far below zero; at Radlje ob Dravi it warmed up to only -10.4 °C, at Ljubljana Airport up to -9.4 °C, in Vrhnika up to -9.2 °C and in Bizeljsko up to -9.0 °C.
1977 –	Southerly to westerly wind, which had already been blowing the previous day at the lower elevations, blew in some basins the cold air in different directions, so in some places in northeast the warming was extremely high. In Murska Sobota it cooled down to -15.7 °C in the past night, in the afternoon it warmed up to 8.2 °C! A large temperature jump was also in Blaguš in Slovenske gorice, where the temperature rose from -16.9 °C to 8.4 °C. Due to a strong thaw in may places a lot of snow melted, in Kočevje the snow cover thined from 36 cm in the morning to 12 cm the next day, in Postojna from 35 cm to 17 cm, in Javorje above the Poljanska Sora valley from 32 cm to 11 cm, in Starše near Maribor all the 18 cm of snow were gone.
1979 –	New year began with an outstanding weather change. The wave of a very cold polar air in the second part the day reached Slovenia from North. By quick and outstanding drop of temperature in most parts of Slovenia some snow fell, in some places in the south more than 20 cm. On Kredarica (2514 m) the temperature at 2 p.m. was -7.4 °C, and at 9 p.m. only -18.6 °C; till the next morning the temperature fell to -27.8 °C. On Krvavec the temperature fell from -1.8 °C, measured in the afternoon, to -20.5 °C, measured in the next morning, and on Kum from 1.2 °C to -17.0 °C.
2022 –	Especially in southern Slovenia and slightly elevated areas it was extremely warm. In Tomaj near Sežana 19.1 °C was measured, in Dobliče near Črnomelj it was 18.2 °C, in the vilage of Krn 17.9 °C, at Slavnik 17.2 °C, at Hočko Pohorje 16.7 °C, in Nova vas na Blokah 16.4 °C and at Nanos 14.4 °C.
2023 –	Similar to the previous year, the weather of the first day of the year was extemely warm in many places. In Dobliče near Črnomelj 19.0 °C was measured, in Gačnik near Maribor it was 18.8 °C, in Lendava 17.7 °C, in Podčetrtek 17.5 °C, in Jeruzalem 17.1 °C, and in Osilnica 16.4 °C.
